Writing on "Manhattan Red"

Here is a bit of reflection I did on the piece "Manhattan Red" on a scrap of canvas with a blue sharpie. I transcribed what I wrote, off the cuff, in case it reads illegible.

- Manhattan (Red) -
"Tragic and intense disconfiguration
of individual interest and construction.
the attractive yet vulgar scenery that
empower few and alienate many.
A pressure that builds as much as it
destroys, as a braggart in the
street unbeknowest of his place in
the world around him; ignorant and
self consuming. Dense human
presence that supports the built
structure as there is
no longer a support structure to
build, sustain or occupy. The
loss of the passionate individual
into the ecosystem or rather
anti-ecosystem of individuality,
consumerism and power. As
abhorrent as profound, as
emotionally confusing as it is
physically compelling we find
ourselves here, now and
underneath this blind behemoth
serving its hunger whilst praying
for its mercy to feed us."
